Avenida al Español: academy par excellence in Málaga

Located in the heart of Málaga, Avenida al Español is a long-established teaching centre. We have other schools in Granada (Academia Puerta Real), Córdoba (Academia Cruz Conde) and Murcia (Academia Alba).

Our teachers are highly qualified and experienced, they have proven results and something we value a lot: empathy. They will always try to make you feel at ease, with the aim of enriching your experience and boost your knowledge.

We use the latest technology to make the most of teaching and we will provide you with access to our own platform. Our philosophy: that you have all the educational tools you need to enhance your academic performance.

Director

Daniel Ramos

With over 10 years of experience in educational guidance and team management (academic and administrative), he is responsible for organizing everything so that Avenida al Español students have the best educational tools to achieve their goals.

He is ready to help you make your stay a unique experience and to communicate with you in Spanish, French, and English.

Our director loves movies, podcasts, and all things geeky.

Head of the International Student Department

Imane Harati

With over 5 years of experience advising on educational services, she is responsible for contacting and facilitating the arrival of each international student in Málaga. Her support in managing the necessary documentation for the validation of studies and obtaining visas provides timely follow-up so that our students can fully enjoy the experience of living and studying in Spain.

Imane is ready to support you in Spanish, Arabic, French, and English.

Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) Academic Coordinator

Rebeca Ferreiro

With over 7 years of experience coordinating ELE academic teams and programs in Mexico, the USA, and Spain, more than 14 years as an ELE teacher, and 25 years as a professor of language, literature, and film, she is responsible for supporting you in your educational process.

• Bachelor's degree in Hispanic Literature, Master's degree in Communication, and PhD in Political Science (with a focus on Communication).
• Courses and training sessions in team coordination, transformation of our center using the SACIC framework, ELE teaching methodology, use of AI in the ELE classroom, design and adaptation of materials for the ELE classroom, teaching in hybrid models, and pedagogical mediation.
• Teaching experience at CEFR levels A1 to C2, in courses for specific purposes and as a DELE exam preparation instructor in various contexts (immersion, foreign language, heritage speakers, business, and political settings) for children, adolescents, and adults in Mexico, the United States, and Spain. Advisor for university theses in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) for students in Beijing, China.
• DELE examiner at levels A1 to C2 for adults; levels A2/B1 and B2/C1 for school children.
• Trainer of Spanish as a Foreign Language teachers in the Diploma Program in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language at the University of Guadalajara.
• Experience in the design of Spanish as a Foreign Language educational materials, assessment materials, and programs for teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and Spanish as a Second Language (from basic to university level) in various countries, as well as the coordination and co-design of the Diploma Program on 20th-Century Mexican Women Writers at the University of Guadalajara Foundation/USA.

Head of Studies for Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE)

Arantxa Márquez

With over 7 years of experience teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) and over 5 years as a language and literature teacher, she is responsible for welcoming you and supporting you in your daily life at the academy.

• Graduate in Hispanic Philology and a Master's in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
• Courses and training sessions in ELE teaching methodology and communicative grammar.
• Teaching experience at levels A1 to C2 of the CEFR in different contexts (immersion, heritage speakers) to teenagers and adults in Spain.
• DELE examiner for levels A1 to B2 for adults.
• Experience teaching ELE at the Moroccan Association and the Red Cross.
• Experience in the design of educational materials, assessment materials, as well as in the design of the Spanish for Professional Purposes program for Academia Avenida al Español. • Teaching experience in Spanish Language and Literature for secondary and high school students.

Felicidad Castillo

With over 1 year of experience teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and over 2 years as a language and literature teacher, she will help you achieve your Spanish learning goals.

• Graduate in Hispanic Philology, with a master's degree in Historical and Literary Heritage of Antiquity, a master's degree in Literary and Theater Studies, a master's degree in Management of Spanish Linguistic and Literary Heritage, and a master's degree in Secondary Education Teaching, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching.
• Courses and training sessions in Spanish as a Foreign Language teaching methodology.
• Teaching experience at levels A1 to B2 of the CEFR in an immersion context.
• DELE examiner for levels C1 and C2 for adults.
• Teaching experience in Spanish Language and Literature for secondary and high school students.
