UNEDasiss University Entrance Exam
Structure of the UNEDasiss University Entrance Exam
In the Spanish education system, the Specific Competency Tests (PCE) of the UNEDasiss University Entrance Exam are organised according to the different Bachillerato (Spanish high school) tracks. These tracks determine which subjects it is best to prepare for, depending on the university degree the student wishes to pursue. The four main tracks are:
- Health Sciences: for university degrees such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Dentistry, Psychology, Nutrition…
- Technological Sciences: for university degrees such as Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics…
- Social Sciences: for degrees such as Economics, Law, Marketing, Psychology, History…
- Humanities: for degrees in the Arts, Philology, Art History, Philosophy…
That’s why, when enrolling in our UNED PCE Course at Academia Avenida al Español, it is essential to know which university degree you wish to pursue. This allows us to design personalised preparation, selecting the most suitable PCE subjects for your profile and ensuring you have all the resources needed to successfully pass the Spanish University Entrance Exam for Foreign Students.
What is UNEDasiss?
UNEDasiss is the service run by the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) responsible for managing the access and admission of international students to Spanish universities. This system allows students to obtain official accreditation and take the Specific Competency Tests (PCE), required for those wishing to pursue higher education in Spain.
The UNEDasiss service is aimed primarily at students from the European Union and from international education systems who can have their studies validated as equivalent to the Spanish Bachillerato. That’s why, in our UNED PCE Course, we prepare students not only to successfully pass the PCE exams, but also to understand and correctly complete the entire university access process through UNEDasiss.
- 2 subjects: European or Chinese Bachillerato graduates, or International Baccalaureate graduates. Also the universities of Galicia.
- 4 subjects: Madrid, Valencia, Murcia, Extremadura, León, Salamanca, Valladolid and Burgos. In these cases, students can apply for the Bachillerato Track option, an extra requirement.
- 6 subjects: the rest of the universities. They require an EBAU structure, the same one used for Spanish Bachillerato graduates (having an EBAU structure does not mean having to take the same exams as Spanish students. It only refers to their choice of subjects to sit).

The Bachillerato Track is a requirement that some universities in Spain (not all) may ask for: those are the universities of the Community of Madrid and those of Castilla y León.
At these universities, you can achieve the maximum score by taking just 4 subjects. There are 4 Bachillerato Tracks:
- Sciences Track
- Social Sciences Track
- Humanities Track
- Arts Track
To apply under this admission criterion, you would need to choose one core subject, the track subject according to your field of study (sciences, arts, social sciences, humanities), and up to two elective subjects.
To succeed with this criterion, there are two possible scenarios:
- Pass the core subject, the track subject and one of the specific subjects; if you fail one elective, it doesn’t matter, your grade will still be positive.
- Have an average grade of 5 points across the four subjects in your field of study. You can pass two subjects and fail two, provided the average grade across the four subjects is a pass (higher than 5).
Information on universities for UNEDasiss in Spain
The application period for accreditation opens in February and closes on December 1st of the same year. Applications can be submitted through the UNEDasiss website’s online application system.
The fees payable for UNEDasiss accreditations have been approved by the UNED Governing Council and its Social Council. The approved fees for the various accreditation services are as follows:

These fees are not subject to reduction or exemption for large families, nor are they eligible for any other type of discount and/or exemption.
Students must pay the applicable fees for all accreditation services requested, even if these are denied by UNEDasiss following review of the submitted documentation.
Once the application has been submitted, the student may not remove services already requested, although services may be modified or additional accreditation services may be added.
Modifications that do not reduce the amount payable and that are requested before accreditations are issued or before the deadline for requesting PCE will be accepted.
The request for recognition of a new subject must be paid for, even if the decision on this request is negative.
REFUND OF FEES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF STUDENTS FROM INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEMS IN ADMISSION TO SPANISH UNIVERSITIES, AS APPLIED BY UNEDASISS
In general, the grounds and causes for refund set out in articles 12 and 27.5 of the Law on Fees and Public Prices apply to these fees.
Refunds of amounts paid shall only proceed in the following cases:
- Duplicate payments for the same item.
- Payments exceeding the required fees.
- When the service was not provided due to a cause attributable to UNEDasiss.
- When the student does not meet the minimum requirement for university admission and this is verified by UNED.
- Death of the student
Under no circumstances will amounts paid for administrative and file-opening fees be refunded.
All refund requests must be initiated by the applicant by sending an email to unedasiss@adm.uned.es and will be processed once the application period has ended.
Amounts paid will not be refunded for the following reasons:
- Failure to sit the exam
- The destination university does not require certain services or does not value UNEDasiss accreditation
- The requested services are not necessary
- The requested services have been denied
- The applicant was requested to provide documentation and this was not provided.

Plan and methodology
Methodology of the Spanish PCE course classes
In our UNED PCE Course, the Spanish classes are designed to comprehensively develop all the necessary language skills: listening and reading comprehension, as well as spoken and written expression. In addition to grammar content, key aspects of Spanish culture and history are covered, essential for achieving true language immersion and helping international students integrate academically.
The methodology combines dynamic classes with practical activities outside the classroom, where students apply what they have learned in real-life contexts, reinforcing their confidence and fluency in Spanish.
Assessment within the UNED PCE Course is continuous and personalised. Students carry out regular activities and tests, and receive individual monitoring from teaching staff, supported by our digital platform to ensure effective learning adapted to each student’s pace.
PCE course programmes
Our UNED PCE Course not only prepares you to pass the Specific Competency Tests, but also offers you a complete immersion experience in Spanish culture. Studying with us means living the language in a city with a privileged historical and cultural setting, ideal for international students.
The programme includes 20 hours of intensive classes per week designed to quickly improve your command of Spanish and reach the level needed to successfully tackle both the PCE exam subjects and your future university stage. In addition, you will have the opportunity to sit the official DELE exams, obtaining internationally recognised certifications from the Instituto Cervantes.
